Welcome to Visit ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have control over your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application ("App") and related services.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

• Account Information: When you sign up via Phone Number (OTP) or Single Sign-On (Apple/Google), we collect your phone number, email address, and name.
• Profile Data: We collect information you add to your profile, such as your username, bio, and profile photo.
• Event Content: We collect the details of the events you create, including titles, descriptions, dates, times, and cover photos uploaded to our service.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

• Device Information: We collect data about the device you use (model, OS version, unique device identifiers) to help with debugging and push notifications.
• Usage Data: We track your interactions with the App, such as events viewed, RSVP actions, and features used, to improve our service.

C. Permissions & integrations (Optional)

You may choose to grant us access to certain features on your device:

• Contacts: If you enable "Find Friends," we upload your contacts' phone numbers to our servers securely (using cryptographic hashing) solely to match you with friends already using Visit. We do not store your contacts list permanently or message them without your action.
• Location: We collect your location data only when you use the App to show you nearby events or help you tag locations for your events.
• Google Calendar: If you choose to sync your calendar, we access your Google Calendar data to read existing events (to prevent conflicts) and write new Visit events. We do not store your external calendar data permanently; we only mirror the events you explicitly choose to sync.
• Photos/Camera: Accessed only when you choose to upload a profile picture or event cover.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

1. Provide the Service: Create events, send invitations, and display your social calendar.
2. Social Discovery: Help you find friends and see public events relevant to you.
3. Notifications: Send you reminders for upcoming events or new invites via Push Notification or SMS.
4. Improvement: Analyze usage trends to fix bugs and build better features.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data in the following limited circumstances:

• With Other Users: Your "Public" events are visible to all users. Your "Friends Only" events are visible only to your accepted followers. Your RSVP status is visible to the event host and other guests.
• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services to run our app:
  • Google Maps/Places: For location services.
  • Twilio: For sending SMS verification codes.
  • Cloudflare R2: For hosting images.
  • Neon: For secure database hosting.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Google Calendar Data (Limited Use)

Visit's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• We use the calendar.events scope solely to sync Visit events to your personal calendar and check for conflicts.
• We do not use this data for advertising.

5. Data Deletion

You have the right to delete your account at any time.

• In-App: Go to Profile -> Settings -> Delete Account.
• Effect: This will permanently delete your user profile, authentication data, and relationships. Event content you created may remain visible if other users are attending, but will be anonymized.

6. Children's Privacy

Visit is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.
